Many of our clients and most of the web surfers have never seen a "NOC". We are proud to give you a guided tour of our facilities. We hope that this will allow you to better understand what web hosting is all about. Click a corresponding image to enlarge it.

The DS-3, OC-3 and OC-48 lines run straight into the Internet Backbone (see image 1). The two CISCO 1200 Series Routers manage the traffic we send and receive to the backbone (image 1). Image 2 illustrates how the system dispatches information to and from the servers as requested by the surfers or WebMasters. Each fiber optic line is a C-class of 256 IPs (refer to image 2).

The Main Console (image 3), allows us to monitor the whole Network 24/7, 365 days a year. When a server goes offline or has a technical mishap, we are immediately alerted by the monitoring software. This allows us to resolve the issue before you even ever know about it.

The servers are mounted on racks (image 4), and each rack has its own console (image 5). The servers on images 4 and 5 are Ultra 2's, Ultra 5's and Ultra 10's in rack format.

We host Linux RedHat, Sun Micro, Microsoft NT servers and Oracle databases (image 6). The floor has a built-in cooling system preventing server over-heating and allows them to run continuously.

• UUNET, Sprint, Cable and Wireless, Qwest, Exodus, Agis, Net Axs, AOL, PSI-Net and Bell Atlantic.
• Multiple backbones allows traffic to be distributed even in case of problem with one specific backbone.
• Cisco 1200 series routers and 5000 series switches.
• Servers are connected to catalyst 5000 distribution switches with redundant uplinks to our core switches.
• Juniper Networks M40 Internet Backbone routers with the JUNOS Internet Operating System.
• ParadoxWeb runs Border Gate Protocol (BGP4) for best case routing. Our entirely switched, Cisco powered network employs routers running HSRP (N+1 hot failover) to ensure that data can be routed even in the event of a router failover. The BGP4 protocol is a standard that allows for the evaluation of each packet of information sent out from the Network. Each packet of information is evaluated and sent over the fastest route possible. Because of our redundant network architecture, packets may be sent via alternative routes even if they are being delivered to the same end user. This also allows for packets to be redirected via another route if network congestion on the internet becomes overwhelming.
